Under the supervision of the Grace Drake Agricultural Lab (GDAL) Equine Herd Manager, this position will provide general assistance to faculty and students in class field work; work with faculty to assist with classes and labs; provides general animal care, animal health care, training, handling, feeding, breeding and parturition checks; assist in gathering, sorting and sorting of data for demonstrations and student instruction; maintain and clean facilities and equipment; record data and maintain records; operate basic equipment and vehicles, including animal transportation; communicate with co-workers and student workers; assist in maintaining appropriate inventory and ordering animal feed and supplies as needed; may supervise student employees; other duties as assigned by manager.

7th grade; three courses in agriculture (or three months of experience), 300 hours of training in operation of agricultural equipment (or three months of experience); driver's license.
Two years of college coursework or a demonstrated ability in the conduct of routine field work or equivalent combination of education and experience; competent in animal handling and agricultural equipment operation skills; teaching or training experience; equine breeding experience.
Target Salary: $10.55 - $13.22 Hourly
