This position supports the Office of the Senior Vice President for University Development and Alumni Relations. Perform a wide range of clerical, secretarial and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Prioritize office activities and assignments. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the department's activities, policies and programs. Interact with the general public as NYU liaison and with University personnel including those at the senior level to resolve issues and problems. Perform general word processing duties. Customize and/or compose letters on own initiative or in response to requests for information. Modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets. Provide research assistance on special projects as needed. Maintain inventory of office supplies and invoicing related to expenses.
Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Required Experience: 3 years of office experience. Experience providing a high level of customer service.
Preferred Experience: 2 years office experience with Associates Degree. 1 year office experience with Bachelor's degree. Experience working in an senior executive's office.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Ability to conduct basic web-based research. Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding. Good proofreading and writing skills.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Office and experience with scheduling software.
