GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Department of World Languages seeks to appoint a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish. Candidates must have native or near-native fluency in Spanish and a record of successful teaching. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to teach 20th century and contemporary Peninsular Spanish literary and cultural studies.
Other responsibilities include:
Helping build new academic programs. Recruit students and lead Study Abroad programs. Fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. Conducting scholarly research, advising students and participating in institutional service.
Ph.D. in Spanish completed by the time of appointment (September 1, 2019)
Concentration in, or experience teaching, Peninsular Literary and Cultural Studies
Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish
Track record of successful teaching as evidenced by student evaluations
This is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible position in the Massachusetts State College Association (MSCA) bargaining unit at the rank of Assistant Professor. Salary commensurate with experience in accordance with Appendix O of the MSCA contract (http://mscaunion.org/day-and-dgce-contracts/)
