Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
High School Diploma/GED (foreign equivalent or higher). Certified as a Medical Assistant. Three (3) years of full time medical office experience. Must be able to accurately record patient or client vital signs and conditions. Basic computer skills.
Associates Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Phlebotomy certified. Experience performing spirometry and EKGs. Must consider opportunities to develop job knowledge and skills by participating in training and educational opportunities as suggested by supervision.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Certified Medical Assistant will maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. The successful Medical Assistant will have excellent customer service skills and will treat every patient with care and compassion. This position requires a responsible individual who can commit to being at work on time and who has excellent attendance, as well as an individual with patience who can handle assisting Providers in a busy clinic.
Perform phlebotomy, spirometry and EKGs. Perform and record blood pressure, weight and temperature.
Manage smooth flow of patients from check-in to exam room to check-out.
Document patient notes accurately in charts as required. Document medications, patient history and vital signs in EMR. Access Computer programs to obtain results, as necessary.
Assist RN, LPNs and clerical staff with front and back office activities such as: respond to patient phone calls, chart paperwork, etc.
Provide patient education services as needed. Counsel patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about the WTC program.
Maintain a clean and healthy environment in the exam rooms of the ambulatory care space.
Other duties as assigned.
