PROGRAM MANAGER,MIT BLOSSOMS (Blended Learning Open Source Science or Math Studies) Project , to lead new program initiatives in high school STEM education, applying the inquiry-based, active learning pedagogy of MIT BLOSSOMS towards Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Teacher Professional Learning (TPL). Will create, implement, and update project plans; define scope and schedules; identify and resolve issues; develop, execute, and manage program plans and proposals related to these two new BLOSSOMS programs; manage the programs' activities and strategies to ensure that operations are effective and efficient; establish timelines/action steps for each BLOSSOMS program and work with others to meet objectives and deadlines; design, organize, and lead, teacher professional development workshops where BLOSSOMS' two new initiatives can be introduced and demonstrated to high school STEM teachers; plan and execute an outreach effort to reach high school administrators and STEM teachers throughout the country; and assist with the design of a teacher portal on the BLOSSOMS website that will connect teachers participating in the two new program initiatives.
REQUIRED : bachelor's or master's degree in education or a STEM-related field; at least three years' experience working in STEM education or closely related field; knowledge of and experience with PBL and TPL; self-motivation; excellent organizational and communication skills; and ability to work with high school STEM teachers. Experience working with educators as learners, developing and facilitating workshops or other professional learning experiences, conducting observations, and providing coaching to educators preferred; as is demonstrated leadership in a school environment and the ability to balance current educational requirements and accountability with more ambitious and aspirational efforts to rethink high school.
