Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Dr. Jan Zimmermann, Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience, is looking for a motivated individual who wants to dive head first into research. A commitment of 2 years or more is preferred. Experience desired but not necessary, highly driven individuals are encouraged to apply.
80% Candidate oversees training and recording of single neurons in non human primate preparations. Assists as scrub nurse in surgical interventions as well as helps in data analytics
20% Candidate works in an interdisciplinary team of scientists and helps with day to day research operations as well as organization, including management of laboratory equipment, ordering, grant submissions, protocol maintenance.
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
BSc in Neuroscience, Psychology, Engineering, Computer Science, Biology or related field or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years.
Must enjoy laboratory work.
Must be extremely reliable and flexible in how working hours are allocated.
Experience working in wet laboratories and working with research animals.
Surgical experience and programming background are not required, but highly preferred.
