75% Conduct experiments with human derived adult pluripotent stem cells in support of clinical applications. A broad range of activities will be expected, including: cell isolation, freeze/thaw of archived cells, cell culture; flow cytometric characterization and purification (sorting); biochemical assays on DNA, RNA/protein. Preparation of media and various molecular biology techniques.
15% Collect and integrate data from multiple sources. Review literature for relevant sources of scientific information and methods. Prepare summary reports of experimental results in support of manuscript preparation. Prepare graphics for presentation. Present summarized data to supervisor. Maintain laboratory equipment, order and stock items.
10% Documentation of experiments in data books (lab notebooks).

*REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (must be mentioned on application/resume):
*Must be willing and able to handle mice, human blood products and work with transducing virus. 1. BA/BS plus at least 2 years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal six years. 2. Demonstrated experience successfully and independently performing multi-step experiments in a research lab following procedure in written protocol or as verbal instructions from supervisor. 3. Demonstrated experience with handling of primary cell cultures and molecular biology techniques. 4. Experience in multi-color flow cytometry and cell enrichment/purification methods. 5. Demonstrated experience maintaining documentation and reports for data and procedures obtained from separate projects in an organized and logical manner.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Basic fluency immunology, stem cell biology and/or molecular biology. 2. Ability to actively contribute to laboratory meetings and assist other laboratory members when needed. 3. Experience with immunological assays and concepts.
