The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Minnesota is seeking a full time surgeon at the Assistant Professor level on the Tenure or Academic track (track to be determined by qualification and interest). The position will be based at the University of Minnesota Medical Center and at the Minneapolis VAMC with additional responsibilities at two community hospitals.
Caseload will be a full range of cardiothoracic surgery including myocardial revascularization, valve replacement/repair, aortic reconstruction, minimally invasive procedures, left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation, and heart and lung transplantation.
In addition, this position is expected to participate in or lead related research, teach and train medical students and residents, and participate in activities and initiatives to support the goals, mission, and values of the Cardiothoracic Division, Department of Surgery, and University of Minnesota.
American Board of Thoracic Surgery certification or eligibility to be certified as described by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery
A demonstrated history of effective and collegial communication with students, colleagues, and patients
