The Ticketing and Marketing Manager oversees the ticketing operations for the College and its clients by ensuring top-notch, smooth, and efficient daily ticketing operations and box office functions for all ticketed events; and assists in developing and executing marketing plans and provides marketing support for events, facility rental sales on campus, and other marketing needs of the department. The college's performance venues include the 340-seat Chesapeake Theater; the 908-seat Amoss Center for the Performing Arts, and the APG Federal Credit Union Arena at Harford Community College, the largest facility of its kind in the region, with a venue capacity of over 3000.
Ticketing: Duties include, but are not limited to, working with campus and external clients to set up events and sales functions in the College's ticketing system and maintaining seating manifests for all ticketed events; hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling ticketing staff; coordinating ticket scanning, front-of-house, and ushering activities; maintaining the ticketing system website, ensuring accurate and relevant content and current images; overseeing cash handling for ticketed events; generating sales reports from the ticketing system; and performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Marketing: Duties include, but are not limited to, working in conjunction with the College's Communications Office to design, create, and/or update promotional and advertising initiatives and materials to support programming, including flyers, posters, brochures, banners, etc.; editing and monitoring web pages and social media for the APGFCU Arena, Events and Conferencing, and Live!; managing search engine optimization and internet marketing for the department; coordinating photography at events and shows as permitted; developing and cultivating community partners to enhance marketing strategies; and performing other duties as assigned.
This position requires day, evening, and weekend hours; work schedule will be determined by the supervisor.
This is an exempt, professional staff position.
A bachelor's degree and one to three years of relevant experience are required. Applicants will be evaluated on criteria including, but not limited to, experience in the coordination and execution of marketing plans; experience operating a ticketing sales platform, University Tickets preferred; supervisory experience; digital marketing experience, including web content and analytics, search engine optimization and paid ads; experience using social media in a professional setting, particularly Facebook; demonstrated understanding of the importance of excellent customer service and communication; and competency using Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign.
