The Business Administration Department in the Leo J. Meehan School of Business at Stonehill College invites applicants for a one-year visiting assistant professor position starting in Fall 2019. However, the position could be converted to a three-year term or tenure-track appointment in Data Analytics based on performance and the strength of enrollment into a new graduate program in Data Analytics.
The selected applicant would join the department of 20 full-time faculty with a wide range of disciplinary expertise and a commitment to fostering diversity among faculty and students. This is an on-campus position and a qualified candidate must teach on the physical Stonehill College campus. The Business Administration Department at Stonehill College is AACSB accredited and offers undergraduate majors in Accounting, Finance, General Management, Management Information Systems, International Business, and Marketing, and graduate programs in Integrated Marketing Communications and Data Analytics. The department also offers minors in Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, and Entrepreneurship.
We seek applicants with a strong interest in teaching and scholarship in the fields in Management Information Systems and Data Analytics. Applicants should have the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate MIS, data analytics, and business courses.
Decision Support Systems and Business Intelligence (BUS 308) *
Typical teaching load in the undergraduate school is three courses per semester (fall/spring) with the option to teach courses during summer and winter sessions. Teaching load in the graduate school is two courses per semester (fall/spring/summer).
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D., DBA, or DPS in Data Science/Analytics, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field from an AACSB accredited institution. (Note, if the degree is not in business, the AACSB requirement does not apply). Doctoral candidates who will have finished their degree by September 1, 2020 will be considered. A strong preference will be given to applicants who possess at least five years of both professional and academic experience in the areas of Management Information Systems and Data Science/Analytics as well as experience teaching MIS/technology concepts to business students.
Applicants with relevant peer-reviewed publications are preferred. The applicant must have a commitment to ongoing research productivity and demonstrate participation in the broader academic community in terms of journal review responsibilities, participation in academic conferences, and other academic roles.
A commitment to service to the Department, School, and College is also essential. The applicant must show a strong interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students and enjoy working closely with student advisees to establish academic and professional goals.
