Position Summary: Incumbent provides patient care to an assigned group of patients in Cardiac Cath Lab, ensuring effective collaboration with the interdisciplinary teams in creation and implementation of the plan of care. Performs professional nursing duties that incorporate the psychomotor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Evaluates patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care, and readiness for discharge. Participates in unit related projects as needed. Serves as a role model, mentor and resource to other clinical staff in the area, and may function as a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) as requested by the supervisor/manager.

Required Qualifications:Ability to cover call shifts (24/7)Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystemAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadAbility to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environmentAbility to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidaysAdvanced Cardiac Life SupportAll external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in NursingBasic Life SupportCurrent CA RN licenseExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishMinimum 6 months recent experience working in a Cardiac Cath Lab or Invasive Procedural Setting, or minimum 2 years' recent experience working in a Cardiac Critical care unitModerate sedation experienceMust demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobMust possess skill, knowledge and ability to circulate, monitor and recover a patient undergoing a diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology proceduresMust possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and familiesKnowledge and practical application of hemodynamic monitoringKnowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and formsSkill, knowledge and ability to provide procedural nursing care during electrophysiology procedures and/ or device implant proceduresUnderstanding of applicable regulatory requirements
