Posting Summary: To assists the Residence Hall Director with managing the residence hall/apartment so that the total environment is safe and conducive to learning. Interprets and enforces all the policies and procedures of Tennessee State University and effectively communicates them to the residents. Assist with the responsibility of the day to day administrative management of a residence facility. Computer proficient, including: web-based programs, Microsoft Office, and email as a significant mode of communication/documentation. Input student information into Banner. Maintain records of activities, incidents and disciplinary sanctions in the hall. Mediate conflicts between roommates and residents. Assist with the supervision of the 24-hour desk operation when students are in residence. On-call/on-duty responsibilities are required. Assist with the supervision of the Resident Assistants and staff. Assist with conducting individual meetings, staff meetings, facility meetings and regular evaluations. Inform residents of departmental and student code of conduct policies and perform conduct hearings for minor violations and adjudicate sanctions. Assist the Director with keeping an accurate roster and student information cards. Assist with the responsibility for all administrative functions within assigned residence hall to include, but not limited to; coordinate facility health and safety inspections, complete staff payroll, verify key inventory and housing tours. Maintain office hours and respond to student, parent and stakeholder needs by being visible and available. Serve as a positive role model and maintain appropriate visibility during evening and weekend hours. Assist with check-in and check-out processes. Assist in room change process and room selection. Submit reports to the Resident Director and Area Coordinator. Serve on Residence Life committees. Perform other related duties as assigned.
