Position is responsible for providing front office support which includes answering telephone calls, entering demographic and insurance/referral information and scheduling appointments.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Answers telephone calls and handles patient questions or routes to appropriate personnel.
Schedules, reschedules, cancels and confirms patient appointments.
Registers new patients in the system and obtains demographic and insurance information.
Assists with obtaining referrals/pre-certifications as needed.
Provides packets of information to patients associated with services which may accompany the appointment.
Assists other clinical support staff during peak times, vacations and illnesses.
Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
Working knowledge of insurance, medical terminology and computer skills.
This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week.
High school diploma with 3 years of experience in billing systems and third-party claims and/or experience in a medical office setting or related customer service/office experience.
Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
