Northwestern University’s School of Education and Social Policy seeks a Curriculum Specialist and community partner liaison for the “Broadening participation in computer science through music, dance, and coding across learning spaces” project funded by the National Science Foundation. This project is creating unique learning opportunities for middle school youth at the intersection of music, dance, mathematics, and computer science. The employee will develop and lead innovative educational programming in collaboration with several community partners including the Evanston Public Library System and the Evanston-Skokie School District 65. Ideal candidates will have K-12 STEM education experience and a background in music and/or dance. Candidates must also have experience with computer programming or a willingness to learn.
Co-develops curriculum and educational programming in collaboration with the project team and community partners.
Co-facilitates educational programming activities with middle school students in libraries, community centers, and classrooms.
Contributes to the design of a music+coding online application
Facilitates professional development workshops to train educators.
Performs other duties as related or assigned.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant science content area or in science education.
Experience working in the K-12 setting with teachers and students.
Demonstrated experience with the design and development of instructional materials and activities.

Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience)
Master's degree a relevant science content area or in science education preferred.
Preference will be given to candidates with computational experience.
