ISU Dining is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Manager at Seasons Marketplace. The Assistant Manager will assist in directing the ISU Dining Operations to ensure high quality, safe, and cost-efficient production and service to students, staff and university guests with a culinary flair and consistent high quality customer service. This position will participate in and supervise food ordering, food production, service, cash handling, catering events, sanitation, and housekeeping/facilities maintenance. Duties include assisting with management of full-time, part-time, and student personnel; setting new pricing, budgeting and meeting sales and financial targets; and assist in making department decisions regarding policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will have excellent leadership skills to lead staff and comprehensive knowledge of food and ability to plan for large volume production.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of related experience; OR a combination of education and related experience totaling 5 years.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management, Culinary Arts, Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, Business or related degree.
Cooking or Food Production Experience in large quantity college, retail, or restaurant setting.
Supervisory Experience with Cash Handling and Credit Card Processing.
This position requires extensive work that can exceed 40 hours per week and works some weekends. Assistant Manager’s are often scheduled during non-standard work times (before 8AM, after 5PM, and weekends).
