Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Project Manager for the Rutgers Biomedical Health Sciences (RBHS) Office of Clinical Affairs. Reporting to the RBHS Senior Vice Chancellor of Clinical Affairs/Rutgers Vice President for Health Affairs, the Project Manager is responsible for projects relating to clinical strategy and operations, health affairs, and health education. This position requires an advanced skill set in project management and experience in organizational change management in order to balance multiple projects, including some that are complex, multi-year phased initiatives. The position handles highly confidential and sensitive information daily.
Responsible for the planning and execution of diverse projects relating to clinical strategy and operations, health affairs and health educations.
Formulates and communicates project objectives, budgets, other resource requirements and timelines, including the development of project milestones and review points.
Maintains a detailed schedule of all projects, coordinates assignments and necessary follow up and closely monitors deadlines.
Coordinates with and utilizes internal and external subject matter experts. Works closely with other members of the RBHS and broader Rutgers community for expertise.
Supervises project staff.
Creates necessary dashboards, Gantt charts, and other tools, to efficiently communicate project scope and progress to broad audiences. Assists in the development of strategic communication plans to effectively communicate project vision, goals and status updates.
Regularly presents to leadership and users on project status updates, results, and course changes.
Ensures that all work and documentation meets the highest standards of the department and the project.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Minimum education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in health sciences, health care policy, or a related field.
A minimum of five (5) years of successful progressive project management experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to effectuate change management in a large complex setting.
Proven track record and experience in the management of large and complex projects requiring the collection, review, and evaluation of business processes.
Must meet project deadlines.
Ability to manage multiple program rollouts at the same time and to balance competing priorities.
Must demonstrate individual initiative to drive projects through to completion.
Excellent oral, written, presentation, and customer service skills.
Ability to make independent recommendations.
Must be able to absorb and process large quantities of disparate information and synthesize quickly.
Proficiency at using Microsoft's suite of office products and project management software such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet. Must be adept with PowerPoint presentations and Excel.
Past work experience in an academic environment, medical school, or a highly complex organization such as an academic medical center/teaching hospital.
