Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Program Coordinator for the Division of Undergraduate Academic Affairs. This position reports to the Director of Upward Bound and Pre-College Initiatives within the office of Student Access & Educational Equity (SAEE) in the Division of Undergraduate Academic Affairs. The position oversees and assists with the planning, implementation, monitoring, and assessment of activities and services throughout the academic year Saturday Academy and during the summer institute. The Senior Program Coordinator works with a consistent understanding of the mission, vision, role, and goals of the administrative, academic, or research unit.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Assists with the implementation of college preparation curricular, programming and activities, onsite sessions, admissions and recruitment sessions during the academic year and summer institute for participants and families with internal and external partners.
Assists with coordinating supplemental instruction, student compliance, and overall management.
Supports in preparing annual reports, student and programmatic evaluations, and research projects associated with special populations.
Maintains and updates student database, shared and encrypted drive, and website.
Responsible for submitting budget reconciliation, purchases, expenditure reports, internal audit, operations, and compliance.
Ensures programming and integrative student projects is focused on high-school retention, graduation, college admissions, and college completion.
Works very closely with SAEE and other grant or institutional pre-college programs and university offices to assist students and families to prepare for college.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree required; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
A minimum of two years' experience in an academic setting working with similar students or pre-college setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Administrative experience including computer and budget knowledge
High-level of accountability, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver's license would be required for this position.
Preferred experience/abilities include experience working with STEM preparation programs; Bilingual in Spanish; Grant writing and report preparation; prior or current New Jersey Teaching Certification.
Master's Degree, Academic Advising, Institutional and Federal Reporting
Prior experience working with youth and/or TRIO programs, Upward Bound preferred.
Some teaching, advising, workshops, and group facilitation experience preferred.
Standard traditional office equipment: computer, fax machine, copier, scanner, etc.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to work nights and weekends and provide own transportation.
Position requires pre- planned nights, weekends and summer given the schedule of high-school students.
