The Department of Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS), in the College of Social Science at Michigan State University (www.hdfs.msu.edu), seeks an outstanding candidate to support the functioning of the Couple and Family Therapy program for one year starting on August 15, 2019.
Responsibilities: The candidate will provide support to the couple and family therapy program through teaching of courses, helping with program reaccreditation, and working as an associate director of the couple and family therapy clinic (https://hdfs.msu.edu/clinic). The candidate would have the following specific responsibilities:
Teach HDFS 830: Survey of Marriage and Family Therapy Theories (taught online, Fall 2019).
20 hours a week of this position will be dedicated support for the Director of the Couple and Family Therapy Program. This support will require the individual to take on a key role in the reaccreditation of the program, which will occur in 2019-2020.
Teach HDFS 993 in summer 2020.
Provide clinical supervision to CFT graduate students.
Serve as Associate Director of the Couple and Family Therapy Clinic.
Other duties as assigned.
Doctorate -Couple/Marriage and Family Therapy, Family Therapy, Family Psychology, or a closely related clinical area
An earned doctorate in Couple/Marriage and Family Therapy, Family Psychology, or a closely related clinical area.
A record of scholarly publications.
Eligible to be a Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Michigan.
Knowledge of standards of the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (see https://www.coamfte.org/ for more information).
A record of excellence in teaching.
