Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
High School Diploma. Prior Laboratory experience.
Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Marine Science or related field. Experience in a marine science lab.
Brief Description of Duties:
Assist with field and/or laboratory work in support of the Southampton Coastal and Estuarine Research Program (SCERP). Led by a world renowned expert in algal blooms, Professor Christopher Gobler, SCERP has been at the forefront of research into the causes of the brown tide, red tide, rust tide, and blue green algae that are now in the process of killing off Long Island's bays and waterways.
The selected candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail.
Assist with field and/or laboratory work, including preparing and maintaining samples under supervision.
Assist with data entry.
Other duties or projects as assigned.
