Coordinator for Curricular Affairs (CCA)
The Coordinator for Curricular Affairs (CCA) manages, supports and coordinates all aspects of the 4th year scheduling process, including communication with students (both GUSOM students and visiting students), making changes to schedules, updating systems as appropriate and notifying hospitals of roster assignments. He or she is part of a group of seven educational program coordinators within the Office of Medical Education, and works as a Team Leader - is familiar with the operations of the OME, advises and directs the teams, answers complex questions, functioning as an expert resource; maintains assignment completion schedules, and is available to provide support as needed to other preclinical courses - balancing out the workload among educational coordinators and allowing for appropriate cross-coverage and support of all preclinical courses. The CCA works closely with the deans and staff of the Office of Medical Education and clinical affiliate contacts to coordinate the administrative aspects of the 4th year scheduling, planning. Reporting to Director of Curriculum Management, in the Office of Medical Education (OME), the Coordinator has duties that include but are not limited to:
Provide support as needed to other pre-clinical courses, other than those specifically assigned, in order to balance out the workload among educational coordinators. This will allow for appropriate cross-coverage and support of all preclinical courses.
Serve as the front-line staffer in the Office of Medical Education, with office accommodations in NE 113. In that role, this educational coordinator will be responsible for the daily management of the activities of the office, including greeting office visitors, students, faculty and staff; managing the mail and faxes, supplies and equipment maintenance.
Support and coordinate all aspects of his/her assigned pre-clinical courses and, and 1st year and 2nd year modules, and
