The Mellon College of Science (MCS) is home to four departments and many programs and research centers that cross disciplines. We approach scientific problems from fresh angles using creative interdisciplinary approaches while drawing on our departmental strengths in the core sciences. MCS faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized for their research in a variety of fields, including polymer science, cosmology, mathematical finance and neuroscience.
The Department of Biological Sciences within the Mellon College of Science is seeking a full-time Research Associate III to work in the laboratory of Dr. Aryn Gittis. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and execution of laboratory experiments investigating the neuronal basis of motor control in basal ganglia circuits.
Core responsibilities will include:
Independently design experiments and research protocols.
Maintain and genotyping of a mouse colony.
Knowledge of behavioral experiments, slice electrophysiology, and histology.
Managing research laboratory including compliance with chemical and laboratory safety regulations.
Managing undergraduate student research.
Summarize statistical information for analysis, presentation and written technical reports.

You should demonstrate:

Master's degree in a biological field or equivalent experience and education.
Two or more years of experience as a lab manager.
