Carnegie Mellon University's Pre-College program is a six-week summer program for high school students to explore college life both inside and outside of the classroom. The program enrolls approximately 780 residential students and 50 commuter students. The Pre-College fields of study include Advanced Placement Early Admission (APEA) (credit-bearing courses), Architecture, Art, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Biology, Design, Drama, Music, and the National High School Game Academy, and the Summer Academy for Mathematics and Science (SAMS).
Our Student Affairs division is searching for a hardworking Assistant Director for Pre-College Enrollment Management. This is an exciting opportunity if you thrive in a dynamic and challenging work environment that aspires to deliver a best-in-class experience for high school students. In this role, you will contribute to the program by recruiting, marketing, admitting and enrolling Pre-College students. In addition, you will be part of the Pre-College Program team that implements the enrollment systems and program logistics to support the program. You will also assist with logistics related to outside-of-the-classroom experience including program planning, summer events, and Pre-College student support.
Your core responsibilities include:
Recruiting prospective Pre-College students through marketing and communications. Maintaining up-to-date marketing materials and practices
Representing CMU Pre-College at recruiting events such as programs, high school visits, and college fairs in cities throughout the country and in Pittsburgh
Reading, reviewing, evaluating, and determining qualifications for admission of prospective Pre-College students
Advising and counseling high school students and parents who contact the Pre-College office with concerns or questions about the CMU Pre-College program
Managing the Pre-College brand for recruitment communications including website
Counseling prospective Pre-College students and parents regarding the Pre-College admission process
Handling enrollment process for Pre-College students
Liaising with Pre-College academic programs as needed
Managing financial aid process for Pre-College program
Working with Pre-College team to coordinate feedback mechanisms and assessment of the Pre-College experience
Handling and improving Pre-College alumni engagement
Assisting with summer operations including program planning, summer events, and student support

Some domestic travel may be required for recruitment. You should be able to travel within the Pittsburgh area during the summer for any programmatic needs.
Minimum of 3-5 years' of related experience required
Valid driver's license
Experience with social media, multimedia and web-based communication preferred
Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and organizational skills
Obtain all background clearances as may be required by Pennsylvania Act 153
