The University of Pittsburgh Department of Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a Dental Assistant.
The Dental Assistant will provide chair-side dental assistance in the predoctoral and graduate areas within the Department of Pediatric Dentistry as well as other related departmental clinical activities.
Duties will include: - Assistance with cases of conscious sedation, outpatient intravenous sedation, general anesthesia, and special needs dentistry - Radiographic services - Dispensing inventory and instrument cassettes - Providing oral hygiene instruction to patients - Helping with chart management using an electronic health record database, and confirmation of dental appointment for dental patients
This individual will also perform a variety of duties that follow established University policies and procedures, Infection Control Guidelines, and OSHA requirements to maintain quality assurance procedures.
The applicant should have completed a formal dental assisting program with license to expose and process dental radiographs as well as CPR certification. Additional experience may be accepted in lieu of formal training.
