CONSUMER LOAN PROCESSOR , MIT Federal Credit Union (MITFCU) , to prepare consumer/home equity loan applications for underwriting submission, closing, and funding. Responsibilities include processing consumer/home equity applications; collecting appropriate documents, including appraisals, credit reports, income, assets, and other pertinent information; working with members to obtain the necessary documents for the completion of loan applications, educating them on rates and plans and answering any inquiries necessary to fund and close the loan; monitoring outstanding applications and following-up with members; sending lender disclosures within appropriate regulatory guidelines; entering member information, early disclosures, or closing documents in member close database; communicating with closing attorneys regarding disclosures and loan documentation and obtaining clear to close; reviewing loan package to ensure all documents are enclosed, complete, and accurate prior to closing; booking loans, sending member disbursements to other creditors, and updating member information to the core XP system; processing recording of liens with appropriate Registry of Deeds, tracking outstanding liens, and transferring file to Servicing Department; and assisting consumer loan officer with processing consumer loans. Position involves regular member contact in order to obtain necessary loan documents, confirm accuracy of application, process loan requests, and expedite closing.
REQUIRED : a high school diploma or equivalent certificate of education; at least one year of experience in the banking or credit union industry; superior member service skills and ability to form long-term business relationships; excellent internal service skills; clear/concise verbal and written communication skills; and solid working knowledge of personal computers, preferably with proficiency using Microsoft Office software.
