FINANCIAL ASSISTANT II , Mechanical Engineering , to provide financial and office support for general accounting. Will process procurement requisitions and verify credit card purchases on thirty to forty cards; reconcile over 350 accounts on a monthly basis; process accounts receivable and other billing/invoicing, adjustments, and changes; train new staff on purchasing and other accounting procedures and documents; coordinate the mailing and distribution of course assignment letters; run monthly report of visitor fees and process JVs to transfer to department account; assist with the upkeep of the space, including overseeing the maintenance of office equipment and setting up and maintaining common areas; exercise confidentiality of classified information based on office protocols; perform other administrative, financial, and clerical duties as necessary, including maintaining paper files, distributing mail, and photocopying.
REQUIRED : at least three years' experience in accounting or finance; full working knowledge of general office practices and procedures; excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels; excellent organizational, time management, and word processing skill; ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, problem solve, and work both independently and as part of a team; meticulous attention to detail; experience with paying invoices, ordering supplies, reconciling accounts, and expense reimbursements; ability to maintain confidentiality; and advanced computer software skills including proficiency in the Microsoft Office.
