30% - Maintain fungal and bacterial cultures using axenic culture techniques, set up and maintain lab and greenhouse experiments for plant-fungal interactions 40% - Prepare total DNA from microbial cultures, and PCR amplify and sequence DNA sequence from individual genomes 15% - Manage data sets resulting from the above research activities, assess data quality, alert PI to problems 15% - ordering supplies, maintaining records, helping students in the lab with similar tasks as above
High school graduate/GED with some post high school science coursework and/or related laboratory work experience to total two years.
BS degree in a biological science field. 6 mo. - 1 year experience in either molecular biological techniques and/or in microbiological techniques.
