A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AS THE ASSOCIATE DEAN OF STUDENTS
As the Associate Dean of Students, you will enjoy being part of our campus culture made up of individuals with diverse backgrounds, heritages, and experiences. By working collaboratively with students, faculty, parents, staff, alumni, and other constituents, you work with your team to lead and enrich our campus. This is a live on campus position.
You are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community as well as a culture of thoughtful, open, and respectful discourse and debate. You advise and counsel students on a variety of academic, personal, and social matters. When student issues, concerns, or crises arise, you respond appropriately. Promoting student wellness and resiliency is important to you.
The Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students depend on your assistance in developing and executing divisional goals and initiatives. You coordinate and lead retention-based programming including new student orientation, sophomore experience, and weekend and social events. Using your leadership skills, you supervise student activities, diversity and multicultural programs, student organizations, and leadership and community engagement. You love interacting with students and being able to make a difference in their higher education experience and their lives.
Master's degree in student affairs or related field
5+ years of experience in advising and counseling students and providing support to families
Knowledge of and/or experience with independent higher education
Do you have an appreciation for the relationship between the academic and co-curricular programs? Are you highly organized and able to prioritize effectively?
