The Department of Health Sciences at Central Washington University, seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in human and applied physiology, beginning Fall 2019. The selected candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses and laboratories in the Clinical Physiology and Exercise Science majors, relevant courses and seminars in the General Education program, and contribute to the graduate Integrative Human Physiology program. Undergraduate instructional areas may include human physiology, lifestyle diseases, clinical populations, and human anatomy. Graduate instruction may include metabolism, cardiovascular and pulmonary physiology, environmental physiology, statistics, and research methods.
Additional responsibilities include working collaboratively as needed on curriculum review and revision, academic advising, scholarly pursuits, mentoring of undergraduate and graduate student research, and service to the university, community, and profession.
An earned doctorate in a relevant discipline (e.g. Health Sciences, Physiology, Anatomy, or other closely related fields).
A record of research/scholarship in the discipline
Previous teaching responsibilities at the postsecondary level
A commitment to diversity and inclusivity
Demonstrated excellence in teaching
Demonstrated involvement with relevant professional organizations
Evidence of mentoring students in research/scholarship processes
Specialty certifications such as ACSM-CEP, AACVPR-CCRP, ACS/ACSM-CET, CDE, or in other relevant areas.
