The PV STEP Intern, under general supervision, will assist the Health Services Department. The intern will work with the Director and Student Counselor to create a novel plan for researching and understanding the attitudes and beliefs of the PVAMU student body systematically using social media. The student will work learn qualitative research methodology including design, implementation, data analysis and report generating. The student will also learn how to collect data that can be used by businesses such as universities to identify student needs and concerns, improve quality and increase immediate crisis intervention. The student will learn how to decipher through massive amounts of social data to identify trends and market impacting data.

Gather and analyze data using research principles and methodology to lead business practices
Write professional reports and create professional presentations to communicate findings to important stakeholders such as administrators, health care providers, service providers and/or emergency personnel
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
Enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student during the Spring 2019 semester
Enrolled in at least six (6) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the summer or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming Fall semester
Undergraduate students: Completed 60 hours by the conclusion of Spring 2019
Minimum of 2.5 GPA and be in good academic standing
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Commit to the entire internship experience (10 weeks, 30 hours a week)
