The Student Hourly Assistant, under general supervision, will assist the area of Information Technology with daily operations.
Assisting with audio video in conference rooms, auditoriums, seminar rooms to include live streaming, Webex, Skype, and zoom systems.
Assiting in managing research computer lab and other research lab computers to include replacing existing outdated computers and ensuring IT security and operating system compliance by keeping up with security patches up to date.
Assisting with updating computers with Windows 10 and Office 16.
Assisting in various research and extension program events and activities during summer to include youth lab, REAP, AgDiscovery, and Summer Bridge.
Assisting with inventory surplus items and in transferring to salvage.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Presently enrolled for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
Must be in good academic standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA
No prior experience necessary
For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least six (6) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Computer hardware and software tech support
Windows 10 and MAC OSX
Cloud Computing, live stream, virtual reality, computer security, audit, servers, etc.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic
Must have a major related to computer and information technology or related fields.
