General Statement of Duties:
The Department of Chemical and Physical Sciences at Westfield State University seeks a one-year, full-time, temporary physics faculty member as a leave-of-absence replacement for a position starting September 1, 2019. Applicants are expected to teach algebra-based and calculus-based physics lectures and associated labs.
A minimum of a doctorate degree in a related field (applicants who are anticipating a doctorate in the near future will be considered).
Previous experience teaching physics in a university or college setting is preferred. A demonstrated commitment to promoting domestic diversity and/or global multiculturalism in the curriculum where appropriate.
Exceptions to these requirements may be made for sound academic reasons in certain specialized academic areas. Applicants who do not meet the qualifications as stated above but who can demonstrate exceptional talent and accomplishment are also encouraged to apply.
Additional Information: Salary: Specific salary for current Westfield State University employees and individuals currently working for the state of Massachusetts must be calculated individually in accordance with collective bargaining and state policies and procedures.
