Northern Virginia Community College is accepting applications for an IT Summer Camp Instructor. The position is responsible for teaching a one week-long summer camp. The camp will take place from 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday, and will prepare high school students to take the CompTIA certification exam in one of the following areas: A+, Network+, or Security+.
Description of Duties and Tasks:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Implement already existing IT curriculum in only one of the following areas: A+, Network+, or Security+. (Subject area will depend on the teacher's competency, preference, and classroom demand.)
Teach the summer camp session for high school students
Plan and manage the classroom time, scheduled for 9:00am-4:00pm Monday through Friday for one week
Monitor students' class attendance and academic progress
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree IT or related field, or equivalent applicable experience or training.
Previous experience teaching high school students
expertise in one of the following areas: A+, Network+, Security+ (certification is not required)
