The Administrative Assistant in the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Office reports to the Executive Assistant and supports and assists the Executive Assistant, Vice Chancellor, and Associate Vice Chancellor in operations including clerical management of the Student Affairs Vice Chancellor's office, serving as a liaison with the internal and external constituents, as well as responding to and performing other duties as assigned.
In order to assist the Executive Assistant, Vice Chancellor, and Associate Vice Chancellor in implementing the division's mission, this position will be expected to serve as the first point of contact for the Vice Chancellor's Office. This position helps to support the Executive Assistant and Vice Chancellor's office as well as other direct reports as needed; manage Leave Records/Travel arrangements and reimbursements, special projects as assigned, and general correspondences; serve as backup to the Executive Assistant; files correspondence and other documentation; perform general office functions and day-to-day operations; have a working knowledge of Student Affairs and will work closely with the Executive Council and all the areas within this Office that directly impact the goals, objectives and mission of the division; provide proactive communications within the university as well as with the community in helping forge stronger relationships; serve as a liaison for the Vice Chancellor's Office within Student Affairs; coordinate assignments and reporting with members of the Vice Chancellor's executive teams and staff; assist other administrative staff with matters such as calendar, routing of calls, etc. as appropriate; provide general administrative support to the Vice Chancellor as needed and requested in the absence of the Executive Assistant; responsible for collecting research assignments from the Vice Chancellor and Associate Vice Chancellor related to university priorities, problem-solving, communications, team-building, and special assignments from the UNC Systems Office; serve as the initial contact person for external requests and constituent issues, organize these requests effectively, and ensure they are addressed by the appropriate person; other duties as assigned by the Executive Assistant, Vice Chancellor, or Associate Vice Chancellor.
