Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) at Iowa State University is recruiting for a Program Coordinator II who will assist CELT in accomplishing its university-wide academic mission. This position provides university-wide faculty development and instructional design assistance to enhance online, blended, hybrid, and face-to-face teaching and learning. The responsibilities of this position include providing faculty development programming, leadership, and consultation on applications of teaching and learning technologies and associated best practices.
The incumbent will provide a variety of leadership and support functions for CELT professional development programming including developing online resources and facilitating workshops on the use of new and innovative learning technologies, and identify, develop, implement and assesses existing and emerging technologies and their application to teaching, learning, and scholarship/research.
This position will provide leadership and collaboration with university-wide partners on development of design and delivery with teaching and learning technologies. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently and in a team environment, be detail-oriented, and focused on customer service. In addition, the candidate will possess the ability to lead and manage multiple ongoing tasks, be self-motivated, and have strong communication skills. The incumbent will have troubleshooting skills for developing strategies for solving problems within the teaching and learning technologies.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree and 2 years of related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling 8 years unless otherwise specified under supplemental required education and experience. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Experience in developing and facilitating faculty development workshops on teaching and learning technologies; - Demonstrated proficiency in using Canvas and demonstrated ability to consult with and support users of the software.
