College of Health and Human Services Department of Social Work Term Instructor or Assistant Professor (#F9940Z)
The Department of Social Work: invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, term faculty position at the level of Instructor or Assistant Professor starting in August 2019. The mission of Mason's Department of Social Work is to prepare future social workers to be effective leaders, scholars, and practitioners who have the necessary tools to promote human well-being by ensuring economic and social justice, as well as human rights for all.
Primary Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching four courses, or 12 credit hours, per semester, with an emphasis on teaching social work practice courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels; participating in faculty meetings, university governance, professional, and public service; serving on departmental committees; and performing related assignments such as supervising student projects, experiential learning, and student advising.

Required Qualifications: Candidates must have an MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program, five or more years of post-MSW social work practice experience, and experience teaching BSW and MSW courses, or experience training professional social workers. Candidates must have strong and recent experience in a clinical setting practicing with individuals, families, and groups.
Preferred Qualifications: Earned doctorate in social work or a closely related field; experience with Blackboard; online teaching experience; and experience providing clinical social work supervision.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
