The Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a one-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology beginning in August of 2019. The successful applicant must have a PhD or be ABD in Sociology by August 2019. Area of research specialization is open. The successful candidate will teach six courses (three per semester) including Introduction to Sociology each term. The successful candidate will also be able to teach social inequality, sociology of the media, or political sociology and, if possible, an introductory qualitative methods or social theory course. We are especially interested in candidates whose teaching, research, and service will contribute to the Department's commitment to diversity and academic excellence.
