Reporting to the Associate Director of Educational Technology, Media, and Design (ETMD) the Educational Technology and Data Specialist will serve in a key role within Harvard Medical School's Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME), evaluating, supporting, and expanding the key business tools that support the growing needs of PGME. Educational Technology and Data Specialist is responsible for the success of adopted products and needs to be able to evaluate the effectiveness and make necessary decisions on behalf of strategy, as well as maintain the PGME database, performing data cleansing and analysis. The Educational Technology and Data Specialist must take the time to understand the user and customer needs and the business goals and collaborate with the ETMD team and with all key stakeholders to support both the data as well as the various educational technology products in use. Key duties include: Own all aspects of onboarding technology– including project plans, scope meetings, needs assessments, use cases, and SOPS – that include troubleshooting. Support the upkeep and administration of course registration tools to ensure the collection of high-quality learner data. Keep up-to-date on the tools and act as the resident expert for all business technology needs. Explore and experiment with new features to continually improve upon PGME's use of the tools as enhancements and new components are rolled out. Support data integration and analysis efforts by scrubbing, cleansing, standardizing and testing data from various sources. Compile and organize data from varying sources for use in reports and data analysis. Perform data cleansing, preparation, analysis, and presentation using course enrollment and demographic data, as well as learner satisfaction/feedback survey results. Utilize data presentation tools such as Tableau and Microsoft Excel to illustrate trends. Troubleshoot challenges that arise, and develop action plans to address problems in a timely manner. Union: 00 - Non Union, Exempt or Temporary
Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of related experience. Prior experience with CVENT and familiarity with Salesforce, DocuSign, and Turnitin, Tableau, Excel, SQL, and/or other analysis and ed tech tools preferred.
The ideal candidate will have experience in CRM systems, Learning Management Systems, database administration. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver who possesses strong attention to detail, patience to perform data cleansing and analysis effectively and accurately, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with strong oral and written communication skills. This position requires an individual, who is self-motivated, can manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, and who works well in a complex organization.
