The Maintenance and Operation Department of Jefferson Community and Technical College has an opening for a regular full-time Maintenance Technician. The primary responsibilities are electricians' assistant and general maintenance. Other duties include:
Works with licensed electricians to trouble shoot, test and repair electrical components, power systems, electrical equipment electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical assemblies.
Repairs and replaces electrical components in equipment rooms and in general building maintenance.
Assist in the repair and /or replacement of defective or worn electrical parts, components and controlling software in electrical systems and devices, electrical motors, generators, pumps, controllers, heating and air conditioners, lighting systems, and other fixtures and equipment.
Carries out emergency, planned and preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment.
Responds with licensed electrician to emergency calls that are a result of electrical failure.
Performs all work under licensed electricians consistent with current national, state and electrical codes, and safety policies as applicable.
Works under a Master electrician.
Needs knowledge of electrical tools, materials and fittings.
Assist in any other general maintenance as assigned by M & O supervisor.
