The Communications Coordinator is responsible for designing creative communications and marketing solutions to support student recruitment within the Office of Admissions (OA). The position will work closely with creative colleagues and stakeholders on a wide range of projects, including PowerPoint, web, social media, video and print assets.
The coordinator will have the opportunity to develop marketing and communication skills while staying focused on the changing needs of our primary audience (Gen Z students).
This position reports to the marketing and communications manager and supports the communication director.
Duties and responsibilities:
Designs, creates, edits, and adapts content for multiple channels, including PowerPoint, web, social media, video and print assets.
Designs and produces quality creative projects that adhere to the brand and provide a consistent image for the university.
Contributes concepts and creates content for recruitment projects, including viewbook and the admit experience, in collaboration with creative directors, communications managers, and others.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Communications, Marketing, or Graphic Design; up to six months of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in communication, marketing, advertising, and creative services; graphic design; word processing; desktop publishing; web design; presentation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Graphic design experience in print and digital design
Ability to prioritize and stay on task while balancing multiple projects simultaneously
Social media savvy
Innovative, forward-thinking, committed, highly organized and adaptable
Proficiency with in Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, AfterEffects, and Photoshop), and Microsoft Office
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate to diverse audiences using various communication methods
Bachelor's degree can be anticipated in near future (completion by May 2019)
