The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Michigan State University (MSU) invites applications for a fixed term position as an instructor in astronomy. The primary responsibility of this position will be to teach astronomy courses, primarily introduction to astronomy. The candidate will also be encouraged to participate in the broader intellectual life of the department. The initial appointment will be for the 2019-20 academic year. An extension for an additional year may be possible based on department needs and satisfactory performance, however, this position is not expected to be available on an ongoing basis.
Doctorate -Astronomy, physics, or related field
A Ph.D. in astronomy, physics, or related field is required.
Previous experience teaching introductory astronomy as instructor of record is highly desirable.
