The Senior Research Technicianperforms developmental evaluations on patients and research participantsfollowed in the Newborn Center Developmental Clinic, tracks non-compliantpatients and research participants, and assists Newborn Center Faculty in theadministration of research and patient development. This positioneducates patients and interns about the Developmental Clinic and support theMarch of Dimes NICU Family Support Program.
Administers and scores developmental and psychological evaluations.
Provides results to the physicians and psychologist and provides support to the psychologist during testing and report generation.
Provides parents with developmental and behavioral educational materials.
Performs home visit evaluations when necessary for clinic or research compliance.
Screens, consents, and enrolls participants in research.
Applies research protocol including setting up, operating, and monitoring aEEG and other physiological data gathering instruments. Monitors participants progress and reapplies protocol when needed.
Maintains research data records. Provides Principal Investigators (PI) with physiological data reports for analysis. Assists the PI with data preparation for presentations and publications.
Reviews medical records for research projects.
Examines medical and social work records for updated patient contact information. Provides updated patient information for entry into medical records.
Attempts to engage non-compliant patients and participants via phone and/or home visits.
Assists the Newborn Center Research Nurse Coordinator with biological sample gathering, research data entry, and other tasks.
Educates parents, interns, and outside providers about the function of the Clinic and the services provided..
