Will perform skilled expediter cooking duties, including preparing meat, fish and fowl by baking, broiling and boiling according to standard recipes, menus, or verbal instructions; preparing and cooking vegetables, fruits, soups and cereals.RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure food is prepared, cooked, issued and stored safely. Assemble ingredient items in a manner so as to maximize food quality and minimize food waste. Prepare and monitor food items to assure safe temperature control and safe handling and storing techniques. Maintain sanitation in work area. Meet food production deadlines. Manage time to complete assigned tasks thoroughly and accurately.Serve Patient breakfast Meal as ordered.Organize work area. Clean and sanitize cooking equipment's, cook's counter and sink. Take inventory of dry good supplies. Submit order to Stockroom Attendant. Stock and refill work area. Heat up lunch soups in Combi oven.Break down steam table and prepare set up for lunch. Double check steam table, to see everything is properly set up and ready for lunch service.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment AND one year of experience as a Food Service Worker; or equivalent education/experience.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:One year of Food Service experience in a health care setting.Ability to read and correctly interpret patient meal ticketAbility to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Ability to stand for 8 hours and to lift up to 30 lbs. Demonstrate the ability to maintain safety and sanitation standards.Actively contribute to continuous quality improvement process to improve services provided to our customers and co-workersDemonstrate team skills; works cooperatively with peers.Promote positive customer service
