The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a qualified candidate for a Research Staff Scientist position. The primary laboratory role for the Research Scientist is to design, conduct, and analyze studies with a focus on the role of immune cell metabolism following allogeneic blood and marrow transplantation and in T cells during in vivo anti-leukemia responses.
Some effort will also go towards understanding additional variables related to stem cell transplantation and engraftment. The incumbent will be an active collaborator with the Principal Investigator in the development and implementation of this research and will facilitate and coordinate all aspects of this project. Specific duties include developing and testing proposed methodologies and designing and validating experimental protocols. There will also be some additional teaching and training of undergraduate, graduate, and medical students, as well as instruction of post-doctoral fellows and research technicians.

Doctoral degree required with at least 5 years of post-graduate research experience in a related field of study. Experience in stem cell biology and/or cellular immunology is strongly preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who have a proven track record of publishing their post-doctoral results in high end, peer-reviewed journals (e.g. impact factor >10) and who have published more than one major article in their post-doc tenure.
