The Department of Surgery at The University of Minnesota is seeking applications for a .75 academic surgeon scientist to join our Division of Surgical Oncology. This position is a collaborative hire with the Minneapolis VA Health Care system where they will have a .625 appointment. The Division of Surgical Oncology is among the eleven clinical Divisions and five research institutes within the Department of Surgery. We are seeking candidates who are interested in being actively involved in leading and contributing to our portfolio of clinical/translation research through collaboration with the Masonic Cancer Center. Academic appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor on the tenure track.
At the University of Minnesota, faculty members are expected to regularly participate in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows. Regarding the research mission, a commitment to any one of a broad array of research interests is critical, including oncology clinical trials, outcomes, health services, basic science, and translational research. Overall, the selected candidate must be professional, team-oriented, and have the ability to interact well with colleagues inside and out of the Department of Surgery.
The applicant must be fellowship-trained and/or Board Certified or Board Eligible in Complex General Surgical Oncology.
Ability to work collaboratively with the Minneapolis VA Health Care system and interest in leading and contributing to clinical/translational research.
