Staff Assistant - ECE Grant Support, part-time, non-unit professional position
About Greenfield Community College: Greenfield Community College is located in the beautiful and historic Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts, between the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and the fertile farmland of the Connecticut River watershed. GCC is a public community college serving over 4,800 people annually in credit courses and credit-free workshops. The Early Childhood Education Career Pathways Grant Project at Greenfield Community College will provide educational support, training, and recruitment to individuals interested in a career in early childhood education. (The grant will provide services and support to those currently in the ECE field who are returning to GCC for continuing education, as well as to students new to the ECE field.)
Job Description: GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under the direct supervision of the ECE Grant Coordinator, provides support to the Coordinator, oversees the grant budget, collects and records data relevant to the grant, and sets up grant-related meetings.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Serves as liaison with the college's grant accountant;
Maintains the grant budget;
Researches, processes, and tracks purchase requisitions;
Organizes, schedules, and participates in meetings related to the grant;
Collects and organizes data relevant to the grant;
Makes travel arrangements for grant coordinator; and
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
An Associate's or higher degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration;
Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in office management, office administration, business administration or business management, the major duties of which included one or more of the following functions: purchasing, personnel management, budgeting, accounting, records management, work simplification, grants management, contract administration or program management.
Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, i.e. Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.;
Knowledge of basic accounting and budgetary practices and procedures;
Demonstrated attention to detail; and
Strong organizational abilities.
Knowledge of state budgetary procedures relating to positions, salaries and personnel services;
Knowledge of the laws, rules, policies and procedures governing Federal Grant Administration; and
Familiarity with and commitment to the Community College mission; and
Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse abilities and academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, and cultural composition of community college students, faculty and staff.

PAY RATE: $22 per hour, 15 hours per week
