The SEVIS Coordinator performs tasks related to the design, implementation, support/maintenance, and enhancement of Terra Dotta - SEVP federal reporting system and NU's enterprise, vendor and in-house developed applications. This position dcuments functional requirements, analyzes requirements in the context of software and processes, develops and executes test plans, assists with and documents business process improvement efforts, and works with production issues as it relates to SEVIS. The Coordinator completes content, process, and procedures for technical and functional system work and liaises with stakeholders.
Participates with Assistant Director of Operations, end users and peers to ensure that user requirements are gathered, analyzed, all gaps are documented, and all deliverables completed (adhering to approved methodology and documentation standards).
Participates with functional users to provide training and ensuring that approved solutions are implemented in a timely and correct fashion.
Contributes to the creation of accurate documentation of process, procedure, and system/application configuration and document generation of I-20’s and DS 2019’s.
Provides input into the creation and maintenance of test scripts, implementation project plans, roll out communications and training materials.
Identifies simple use cases.
Coordinates and manages SEVIS federal reporting; data audits; data batch processing.
Provides input into test scripts and performs detailed testing for simple use cases to ensure that the implemented software functions correctly.
Participates in iterative feedback processes among users, developers, and analysts to ensure software functionality aligns with requirements.
Enters basic software configurations to meet user needs.
Collaborates with technical, reporting and application resources to analyze and resolve basic production issues in a timely manner.
Serve as backup advisor and provide additional support to teams.

Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as computer science, information technology, or relevant field; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
Infrastructure (extends across applications): Box Collaborative Storage, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook), Microsoft SharePoint.
Analytical: Critical thinking, data mining, decision making, problem solving, troubleshooting.
Project: agile environment, collaboration and teamwork, evaluate resources, functional documentation, organizational skills, planning, workflow development & documentation.
Ability to meet the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Homeland Security requirements to be a Designated School Official and Alternate Responsible Officer.
Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience)
2 years as a DSO/ RO with significant experience in batching, other third party system, or RTI reporting
Experience advising students and/or scholars.
3+ years experience with hands-on batching or a third party reporting system(s).
Significant experience in interpreting regulations related to international student and/or scholar status.
Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
Knowledge of global language(s).
Experience with presentations and workshops at NAFSA annual, regional or other international education associations.
