The Study of Latinos - Investigation of Neurocognitive Aging (SOL-INCA) directed by investigators in the Department of Neurosciences and the Shiley-Marcos Alzheimer's Disease Research Center at University of California, San Diego is currently seeking a data analyst who is trained in biostatistics, bioinformatics, data science, or quantitative epidemiological, psychological or social sciences to join our research team investigating Latino health and aging and neurocognitive aging and disorders.
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator, the Data Analyst will conduct programming support, data management, and statistical analyses. Will be creating and maintaining databases for various studies; quality control and preparation of data for analysis (e.g. merging, cleaning, coding, consistency checks); conducting statistical analyses and implementing statistical models; data visualization; and post analyses production of reproducible tables and graphs for manuscripts and grants applications.
Under direct supervision, acquires skills and knowledge of professional concepts in research data analysis. Works on small projects or segments of projects with limited scope and complexity.
A Bachelor's Degree in related are;a and/or equivalent experience/training.
Acquiring knowledge of research function. Acquiring ability to perform research analysis duties. Must be opened to learning new techniques and methods.
Strong statistical analysis, systems programming, and database design skills to perform research analysis duties. Experience working with statistical software and packages.
Effective communication and organization skills as well as ability to work independently and as part of a team. Be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented.
Ability to effectively manage time and see assigned parts of projects through to completion on deadline. Work under pressure in a fast-paced research program.
Written and verbal fluency in both English and Spanish.
