Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
The Research Data Analyst will be responsible for data management activities including: design and data collection methodology recommendations, data quality control, and data error reporting for a multi-center consortium under the supervision of the Biostatistician and principal investigator.
Specific duties & responsibilities:
Have primary responsibility for data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
Develop data collection and analysis methodology, including defining in detail data requirements, data sources and proper data collection procedures, (e.g., computer programs, appropriate data fields, databases).
Develop and implement data collection quality assurance procedures to ensure validity and reliability of study results.
Create/build and maintain databases, records, and files. Merge data, create, and recode variables to prepare data for analyses.
Perform data analysis and interpretation, utilize knowledge of statistics and quantitative analysis.
Generate reports, charts, tables, and create presentations.
May serve as resource for research staff and field data coordinators regarding data issues: collection, entry, quality, and transfer.
May prepare, disseminate, and analyze qualitative data collection instruments.
May contribute to writing sections of manuscripts /publications.
May present data at meetings.

Minimum qualifications (mandatory):
Bachelor's degree in related discipline required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in data management. Master's may substitute for some experience.
Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and REDCap.
Familiarity with a quantitative data analysis software such as Excel, SPSS, Stata, R and SAS.
Excellent organizational, communication and writing skills required.

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
