Reporting to the Director of Faculty Recruitment, the Recruiting Coordinator supports all human resources and operations functions in the School of Professional Studies as it relates to faculty recruitment, such as job postings and hiring for faculty positions. The Recruiting Coordinator helps manage the hiring/appointment process of all new faculty (full-time and part-time), serves as a backup to operation functions such as facilities and finance operations, and ensures that all administrative needs of recruitment in the Department of Faculty Affairs are delivered efficiently and effectively.
GENERAL SUPPORT TO HUMAN RESOURCES (95%) - Assists Director of Faculty Recruitment with high-volume, faculty searches in advance of each semester (fall, spring, and summer) with sourcing, screening, and interview management. - Posts positions on Columbia's job sites and on appropriate advertising sources, schedules interviews, job talks, and committee meetings, and serves as one of the first points of contact for new faculty. - Assists with development of advertisement strategies - Tracks candidates and shares applications with hiring managers. - Contacts new faculty to collect required information and paperwork. Assists new hires with paperwork process. Creates and maintain all records, including employee files. Assists with creation of appointment letters for faculty before the start of each term. - Assists Director of Faculty Recruitment to update and maintain annual pipeline lists. - Works with finance team to process reimbursement requests. - Responds to faculty inquiries regarding paperwork, salary, and Columbia UNI/email, and ID cards. - Maintains discretion and professionalism while dealing with highly confidential information.
PERFORMS OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED OR REQUESTED (5%)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Minimum one year of related experience in faculty affairs, human resources, or related field required.
A background in faculty affairs, human resources and/or labor relations is strongly preferred.
