The Department of Experiential Engineering Education (ExEEd) in the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering at Rowan University invites applications for part time instructor positions with the possibility of renewal. ExEEd was launched as a new Department in 2016 to catalyze the translation of educational innovations into the classroom, cultivate a collaborative environment for engineering education research, and to lead the College’s undergraduate engineering educational mission for first- and second-year students.
Successful candidates will have a strong interest in teaching courses in the first and second year of the engineering curriculum and will join a team that shares responsibilities for the Freshman and Sophomore Engineering Clinic courses. The Engineering Clinic Sequence is the hallmark of Rowan’s innovative undergraduate engineering program and features multidisciplinary, hands-on, project-oriented courses. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative projects and pedagogies in an environment where excellence in teaching is needed and valued. The successful candidate must be committed to working with students from diverse backgrounds including women, students of color, LGBTQ students, first generation to college students, students with disabilities, students with low socioeconomic status, and veterans.
Applicants must have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or a closely-related discipline and at least a Master of Science degree, preferably a Ph.D., in Engineering, Engineering Education or STEM Education. Industrial or other professional experience, while not required, would be very valuable.
